Deaf-blind children need a lot of care and sensitive support systems to survive in society. Help us help them.
Sense International India, also known as Sense India is the only national organization in India working exclusively to meet the needs of deaf-blind people.
Deaf-blindness is a very unique disability which is a combination of varying degrees of vision and hearing loss in an individual, leading to complex problems in communication, mobility and accessing information. It is estimated that there are more than 500,000 deaf-blind children in India. Till 1997, only 23 deaf-blind children were receiving education in India. But as of today, we are reaching out to over 77,000 deaf-blind children through 57 partners in 22 states of India. However that is less than 10 percent of the population and we need to join hands so that we may reach out to more and more deaf-blind children and adults in India.
