Partnering Hope Into Action Foundation (PHIA)
Educate Children of Rag Pickers
On Delhi’s outskirts, there is a rag-picking colony in Bhowapur slum inhabited by over 3000 people who are involved in collecting waste from surrounding households. PHIA has been working with the children of these rag pickers, to enable them access to education through basic bridge schooling.
Bridge schools are small-scale education initiatives that provide children with enough education to get back into mainstream schools. Children are also provided nutrition support and clean drinking water at the bridge school. Through this project, PHIA is supporting over 200 children out of whom 86 have been enrolled in a nearby government school until the end of June 2017.
Your donation will contribute towards transforming the lives of over 200 children from Bhowapur slum. These children will receive quality education and access to health services.
Established in 2005 as a Public Trust, Phia Foundation is a charity registered under Indian Trusts Act 1882 that works to tackle poverty across India.
